Original 'PAF' Humbucker

Our 1958 PAF-style pickup captures the unmistakable woody depth and uncompressed dynamics of the original late '50s design. Hand-wound with vintage-correct 42 AWG plain enamel wire, each pickup is voiced to replicate the scatter-wound asymmetric coils that gave the originals their three-dimensional clarity.
 
We use Alnico II magnets, to provide a soft, musical attack with a rich midrange and a smooth, rounded top-end. As with the original PAFs, these pickups are left unpotted to preserve their full harmonic complexity and touch-sensitive response. This delivers an open, acoustic quality with exceptional note separation.
 
Built to vintage standards, the pickup features a solid nickel baseplate, maple spacers, and traditional braided single-conductor hookup wire (4 conductor hookup wire is also available). Whether you want the classic, throatier warmth in the neck or the bite and articulation of a vintage bridge position, this pickup delivers the unmistakable clarity and depth that defined an era.
